Serious road accidents injure several people in Germany

A 19‑year‑old driver was critically injured in a heavy car crash in the Wehe district of Rahden, North Rhine‑Westphalia, after his vehicle left a left‑hand curve and struck a tree at around 04:30 on Saturday. Emergency crews freed him from the wreck, provided on‑site medical care and air‑lifted him to a hospital. Police and a traffic‑accident investigation team have opened inquiries into the cause.

In Dorsten, also in North Rhine‑Westphalia, a 59‑year‑old woman from Raesfeld suffered serious injuries when her motorcycle collided with another at an intersection on Lembecker Street on Saturday afternoon. Her 62‑year‑old partner, who was riding with her, was lightly injured. Both were taken to a nearby hospital, and the damaged motorcycles incurred roughly €7,000 in losses. Police are reviewing the incident.
