Serious traffic collisions in Waddinxveen and Overbetuwe injure multiple people
On Saturday morning, June 13, a car ended up in water on Zwarteweg in Waddinxveen (South Holland). One person was injured and taken to the hospital. Local fire services deployed divers, ambulances, a hook‑arm vehicle, water‑rescue units, a ladder truck and a tank‑autospuit. The cause of the incident has not been established.
Earlier on Friday, a quad rider was seriously injured after colliding with a car on the 1e Weteringsewal near Nijmegen. The rider was initially unresponsive, prompting the dispatch of a trauma helicopter, and was later transported to Radboud hospital with severe injuries. The driver of the red car was detained by police, and the road was temporarily closed.
