Serious traffic collisions injure several people in Brazil

A multi‑vehicle pile‑up on the BR‑116 near Curitiba, Paraná, involved two trucks and two cars, leaving five people injured. Among the victims was a seven‑year‑old girl in critical condition; the others suffered light injuries. The crash blocked the southbound lane for about 19 km, causing a long traffic jam that was cleared later in the evening.

In a separate incident on the ERS‑324 near Nonoai, Rio Grande do Sul, a truck collided with a passenger vehicle, injuring three occupants – two women and a child. One woman sustained severe trauma and was air‑lifted by a SAER‑Fron helicopter to the Hospital Regional do Oeste in Chapecó for specialized care. The truck driver was unharmed.

Both accidents prompted emergency response from police, fire services and medical teams.
