SERKA supports Sarıkamış women's chocolate production initiative

The Serhat Development Agency (SERKA) has signed a technical support agreement with the Sarıkamış Women's Empowerment and Development Cooperative to enhance chocolate production and product development capabilities.

Under the 2026 Technical Support Program, 11 cooperative members will receive seven days of hands-on training and 90 days of consultancy. The program covers chocolate production techniques, food safety, hygiene, cost calculation, and shelf-life management.

The initiative aims to develop unique products under the brand ‘Sarçika Çikolataları’ by utilizing local ingredients such as Kavılca flour, Sarıkamış raspberries, Kars honey, Kağızman walnuts, and local rosehips. The project seeks to strengthen women's participation in the economy and transform local raw materials into value-added products while leveraging Sarıkamış's tourism potential.
