Serkan Kurtuluş extradited to Turkey from Argentina

Serkan Kurtuluş, identified by the Turkish Ministry of Interior as the leader of an organized crime group, has been extradited to Turkey from Argentina following an international arrest warrant.

Kurtuluş faces numerous charges, including premeditated murder, forming a criminal organization, armed robbery, unlawful deprivation of liberty, and usury. His legal history is linked to investigations in İzmir, specifically involving a scheme referred to as the ‘FETÖ borsası’ (FETÖ exchange).

Reports indicate that the criminal organization allegedly operated by leaking lists of FETÖ suspects to facilitate extortion and kidnapping. This network reportedly involved connections between organized crime, intelligence officials, and political figures. One notable incident involves the 2019 assassination of Ahmet Kurtuluş, a former AKP İzmir provincial vice chairman, who was allegedly involved in assisting the criminal group.
