Serkan Ramanlı calls for judicial reforms in Turkey
Serkan Ramanlı, Deputy Chairman of HÜDA PAR and Batman MP, addressed several legislative and social issues during a press conference at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Regarding the upcoming 13th Judicial Package, Ramanlı emphasized that the package should be built on the foundations of justice and equality.
A primary demand highlighted was the reform of indefinite alimony laws. Ramanlı called for a more equitable system that considers marriage duration, economic conditions, and social circumstances to prevent ongoing grievances. He also stressed that while accelerating judicial processes is important, it must not compromise the right to a fair trial or lead to rushed, inadequate decisions.
Additionally, Ramanlı called for increases in minimum wage and retiree pensions to combat the rising cost of living. On the international front, he urged authorities to shut down social media accounts in Turkey that he described as spreading propaganda for the Israeli occupation, and called for a permanent ceasefire in the conflicts between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
