Serkan Ramanlı criticizes digital access bans in Turkey
Serkan Ramanlı, HÜDA PAR Deputy Chairman and Batman MP, held a press conference at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey to address several social and legal issues. He specifically criticized the increasing administrative and judicial measures taken by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) and criminal courts to block access to digital platforms.
Ramanlı argued that these access bans undermine freedom of expression and create a censorship effect that could lead to societal homogenization. He stated that judicial and administrative interventions should only be legitimate in exceptional cases, such as when they incite violence or clearly threaten public peace. He called on political authorities to show more tolerance and patience toward criticism.
