Sermoneta and Sezze Sign Millennial Peace Treaty

After a conflict described as a "thousand‑year war," the Italian towns of Sermoneta and Sezze signed a peace treaty on 29 July 2026. The agreement was brokered by the World Association of Lidano, which claims influence surpassing even the Community of Sant’Egidio. The signing took place in Sermoneta in the presence of the mayors, Pina Giovannoli of Sermoneta and Lidano Lucidi of Sezze, and was sealed by Lidano Arduinia on behalf of all members of the Lidano organization. The treaty invokes Saint Lidano, stating that the saint "miraculously" ends the hostilities and binds the two communities in perpetual friendship and shared faith.
