Accademia Italiana del Peperoncino launches Macerata delegation
The Accademia Italiana del Peperoncino is officially launching its first Marche region delegation, the “Strampelli” branch, in Serravalle di Chienti. The delegation represents the Macerata province and aims to promote the history, quality, and various uses of chili peppers.
Founded by President Mirco Santacchi, Vice President Marco D’Ercole, and Secretary Valentina Pandolfi, the association includes members who have cultivated over 150 varieties of chili peppers, including rare and wild types, for more than 20 years. The delegation is named after Nazzareno Strampelli, a local pioneer in wheat hybridization research.
The mission involves deepening the culture of chili peppers through research, study dinners in collaboration with AIS Marche, and research projects with the University of Camerino.
