Serre Chevalier partners with Route du Rhum sailing race

The Serre Chevalier and Briançon mountain stations have announced a partnership with the 2026 Route du Rhum sailing race. This collaboration links the alpine region with the nautical event held in Saint-Malo.

Through an alliance with the Société Nautique de la Baie de Saint-Malo, the partnership highlights shared values of adventure and respect for nature. Both Saint-Malo and Briançon also share a historical connection through the Vauban fortifications, which are recognized as UNESCO World Heritage sites.

The 2026 edition of the Route du Rhum is scheduled to take place from October 20 to November 1. The event is expected to host 118 skippers competing in a solo crossing of 3,543 nautical miles toward Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe. The race village is projected to attract approximately 1.5 million visitors.
