Serre di Rapolano hosts exhibition on Pier Paolo Pasolini’s paintings

The Museo dell’Antica Grancia in Serre di Rapolano is hosting an exhibition titled ‘Pasolini. Pitture, Paesaggi, Persone’ (Pasolini: Paintings, Landscapes, People). The exhibition explores the lesser-known artistic side of Pier Paolo Pasolini, focusing on his passion for painting and his deep connection to nature, landscapes, and human figures.

The display includes a variety of media, such as paintings, drawings, photographs, and documents. Visitors can view early editions of Pasolini’s writings from the Gabinetto Vieusseux archive in Florence, which lead into a section dedicated to his visual works. The exhibition also highlights his relationship with art history, including the influence of Roberto Longhi on his visual perspective.

Curated by Daniela Ferrari and Riccardo Maria Balzarotti, the event is supported by the Municipality of Rapolano Terme in collaboration with several institutions, including the Fondazione Musei Senesi and the Fondazione Monte dei Paschi di Siena. The exhibition opened on October 10 and is scheduled to run until January 10, 2027.
