Serres agricultural authorities issue cotton plant protection guidance
The Serres Agricultural Cooperative (DAOK) has issued agricultural guidance for cotton producers in the Serres region regarding plant protection and crop management. The bulletin focuses on the period following the opening of 50% of the cotton bolls.
Observations indicate that most cotton plants are in various stages of maturity, ranging from 20% to 70% boll opening, depending on local soil and climate conditions. In some humid areas, excessive vegetation in the upper half of the plants has been noted, which may hinder ventilation for the bolls in the lower half.
Regarding pest activity, pheromone trap data shows low levels of adult green worm flights in certain areas. Pink bollworm activity also remains at very low levels, with no larvae detected in recent sampling. Currently, there are no reported issues with insect infestations such as stink bugs.
