Serres receives series of Greek government visits to address agricultural issues

Minister of Rural Development and Food, Margaritis Schoinas, visited Serres to address critical issues facing the local primary sector, including the rapid spread of sheep and goat plague. During meetings with farmers and the Chamber of Serres, Schoinas emphasized that ongoing structural reforms in payment systems and the management of animal diseases are essential to the future of Greek agriculture.

The Minister committed to presenting a roadmap for livestock capital reconstruction, supported by the European Union, during the Thessaloniki International Fair. He also addressed land registry concerns, noting that authorities are working on solutions to reflect accurate property ownership.

This visit is part of a broader series of government engagements in the Serres regional unit. Upcoming visits include Deputy Minister of Transport Konstantinos Kyranakis, Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis, and Minister Makis Voridis, aimed at discussing local administration, healthcare infrastructure, and regional development.
