Serres hosts traditional costume exhibition
The traditional costume exhibition ‘The Costumes of Our Place – Memories and History’ opened in Serres on September 2, 2026. The event is part of the 22nd Panhellenic Dance Meeting, organized by the Municipality of Serres in collaboration with various cultural associations.
Through various costumes, symbols, and designs, the exhibition aims to showcase elements of collective identity and historical narratives. Kalliopi Panopoulou-Tzioni, an Associate Professor at the TEFAA of Serres, served as the keynote speaker, highlighting the importance of traditional clothing as vital evidence of cultural heritage.
During the ceremony, Panopoulou-Tzioni and former Mayor Zisis Mitliagkas were honored for their contributions to local culture.
