Serres man injured by glass shard found in bakery product

A 35-year-old man in Serres, Greece, sustained injuries to his tongue and palate after biting into a 2.1-centimeter glass shard embedded in a bread roll. The incident occurred on Wednesday, October 21, after the man attempted to eat the remainder of a roll that his 3-year-old son had partially consumed.

The victim required medical attention at a Serres hospital to treat oral bleeding. The bread was purchased from a bakery chain operating within the city of Serres. The man’s lawyer, Dimitris Golemis, stated that a formal notice has been sent to the bakery company and that legal action, including reports to food safety authorities, is being pursued to ensure consumer protection.
