Serres wildfires: Firefighters battle blaze in Ano Vrontou

A wildfire broke out in an agricultural-forest area in the Ano Vrontou region of Serres, Greece, on Sunday morning. The fire was reportedly preceded by lightning activity in the area.

To combat the blaze, the Greek Fire Service deployed 15 firefighters, a specialized hiking team from the 2nd EMODE, and four vehicles. An aerial helicopter was also dispatched to assist in the operation. The Municipality of Serres has provided water tankers to support the firefighting efforts.
