Sertã hosts bootcamp to improve migrant integration

The municipality of Sertã hosted the “A+I – Descobrindo Novos Cidadãos” bootcamp from October 14 to 16. The initiative brought together approximately 30 professionals from various sectors, including social action, health, education, and security, to develop collaborative solutions for the challenges of migrant integration.

Participants engaged in discussions regarding interculturality, legal frameworks, and the management of migratory processes. The program also focused on addressing myths and prejudices through intercultural mediation and the sharing of personal life stories to better understand the needs of migrant populations.

A key outcome of the event was the creation of a collaborative tool designed to assist professionals in responding to inquiries from migrant citizens, aiming to foster more informed and coordinated intervention among different public and private institutions.
