Serve Robotics partners with Grubhub for autonomous delivery expansion

Serve Robotics has announced a new partnership with Grubhub to deploy its autonomous sidewalk delivery robots in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Alexandria, Virginia. The expansion aims to utilize Serve’s fleet of approximately 2,000 robots across new marketplaces following the conclusion of a long-standing alliance with Uber Eats.

This strategic shift comes as Uber has exited its stake in Serve Robotics and indicated it does not plan to renew its delivery agreement when it expires in 2027. Due to declining delivery volumes through Uber, Serve has adjusted its 2026 revenue guidance downward from $26 million to a range of $9 million to $10 million.

In addition to the Grubhub deal, Serve is expanding its footprint through partnerships with DoorDash in San Jose and Washington, D.C. The company is also implementing “micro depots” in Miami to streamline robot maintenance and charging, and is advancing its healthcare automation efforts with the rollout of Moxi hospital robots.
