Serve Robotics launches first Australian robot delivery service

Serve Robotics has launched Australia’s first autonomous sidewalk delivery service on the Gold Coast. This pilot program marks the company’s first international expansion outside of the United States.

Operating within the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct and Griffith University, the service is integrated with the DoorDash app. Customers can opt for robot delivery from participating local restaurants, such as Gnocchi Gnocchi. The robots navigate sidewalks at walking speeds, using sensors to avoid pedestrians and obstacles, while being continuously monitored by remote supervisors.

Griffith University serves as the operational base, hosting the fleet’s depot for charging, maintenance, and coordination. The partnership aims to provide students with practical experience in emerging technologies while testing the scalability of autonomous logistics in walkable urban environments.
