Service disruptions reported in Bitung and Gorontalo

In Bitung, the use of unofficial passenger pickup points for travelers heading to Gorontalo has drawn scrutiny. Critics have questioned why passengers are not centralized at the official Terminal Tipe A Tangkoko in Manembo-nembo to ensure better administration, safety, and manifest checks. Norman N. A. Kapulika, head of Terminal Tipe A Tangkoko, explained that the current system utilizes a booking and pickup model to provide convenience for Bitung residents. Under this arrangement, vehicles pick up passengers at various points in central Bitung before proceeding to the terminal to complete manifest checks before continuing their journey.

Meanwhile, at Djalaluddin Gorontalo Airport, the implementation of a non-cash parking payment system has caused significant delays. Travelers reported long queues at airport exits, with some waiting nearly an hour due to technical issues with electronic cards and QRIS payments. Users expressed frustration, noting that the transition to digital payments lacked sufficient technical preparation and public socialization, particularly for those not accustomed to digital transactions.
