Service fee updates announced in Suriname and Zemst

The Directorate of Civil Affairs (DBZ) has announced new fee rates for various services effective September 21, 2026. Under State Decree no. 93, costs for family books will rise to SRD 250. Fees for civil status documents, including birth, marriage, divorce, and death certificates, as well as various declarations, are set at SRD 50. Additionally, the legalization of family books, passports, and identity cards will cost SRD 200, while extracts from the population register will be charged at SRD 25.

In Zemst, Belgium, a uniform rate for after-school care and activities (BOA) has been implemented for all primary schools as of September 1, 2026. The standard rate is €1 per half-hour started. A social tariff has also been approved, allowing eligible families to pay 50% of the standard rate (€0.50 per half-hour). The program provides care for children aged 2.5 to 12 during mornings, afternoons, and pedagogical study days.
