SES and WELT TV extend satellite distribution partnership

SES Germany and Axel Springer's WELT TV have extended their cooperation to ensure the continued satellite broadcasting of WELT HD and N24 Doku via the Astra 19.2° East orbital position. The agreement, signed in October, secures distribution into the next decade.

The contract covers the encrypted WELT HD signal as part of the HD+ offering and the unencrypted SD version of N24 Doku. While this ensures reliable reach for millions of German households using satellite antennas, the HD version of N24 Doku will not be available via satellite and will remain limited to cable and IPTV providers.
