SESCAM launches leadership program for primary care professionals

The Castilla-La Mancha Health Service (SESCAM) has launched a new training program designed to strengthen the leadership and management skills of 44 professionals working in Primary and Community Care. The initiative, titled ‘Reinforcement of competencies for the exercise of intermediate responsibilities for Primary and Community Care in the Health Ecosystem’, aims to provide tools for organizational improvement and change management.

Running from September to December 2026, the program is part of a broader Leadership and Transformation General Program. It is funded by the Ministry of Health as part of the 2026 Action Plan for the Strategic Framework for Primary and Community Care. The training was inaugurated in Toledo, with SESCAM Managing Director Alberto Jara presenting the organization's strategic lines.

The program seeks to address several critical challenges in the healthcare sector, including high patient pressure, resource optimization, coordination between different levels of care, digital transformation, and the move toward more personalized medical attention.
