Sesi launches biodiversity-themed educational robotics season
Sesi has launched a new season of educational robotics in Brazil, focusing on the theme of biodiversity. The announcement, which marked the official start of FIRST competitions in the country, was broadcast live to representatives from all 26 states and the Federal District.
The upcoming FIRST Canopy 2026/27 season challenges young scientists to develop technological solutions that protect ecosystems and promote environmental sustainability. Sesi, which operates these competitions, noted that this season also commemorates 15 years of operating FLLC competitions in Brazil.
Sesi Superintendent Paulo Mol emphasized that robotics serves as a transformative educational agent, shaping skills beyond science and engineering. Education Superintendent Wisley Pereira highlighted the use of STEM methodology (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) to move beyond traditional teaching models.
