Ontario local news: Land records return to Lambton and community updates

Various local news developments are occurring across Ontario. In Lambton County, nearly 750 historic handwritten land record ledgers have returned to the Lambton County Archives after being held at the University of Windsor for 40 years.

In Chatham, the Bhutanese Nepali Community is hosting a week-long Mahayagya spiritual event at the Everest Convention Centre to promote community unity and mental health. Meanwhile, the Rotary Club of Nipissing has donated $15,000 to the 2027 Special Olympics Ontario Provincial Winter Games in North Bay.

In criminal and traffic news, Timmins police have laid additional charges following a homicide investigation involving a robbery attempt on Rea Street South. In Algoma Mills, a cement truck became stuck under a railway bridge on Highway 538, resulting in an 11-hour road closure and a careless driving charge.
