Molise PD councilors oppose reallocation of 19 million euros in EU funds

Regional councilors from the Democratic Party (PD) in Molise have formally opposed a plan to reprogram European funds, specifically targeting a reduction of approximately 19.08 million euros. These funds, part of the FESR-FSE+ 2021-2027 program, were originally designated for development, services, and combating depopulation in the region’s most fragile internal areas.

The proposed reallocation seeks to redirect 15.08 million euros toward logistics infrastructure to fund the Termoli Customs Free Zone and 4 million euros toward tax credit interventions related to the ZES. The opposition has filed an urgent motion and a note of dissent with the Supervisory Committee, alleging procedural irregularities. They claim the reprogramming was pushed through an urgent procedure despite objections from various local municipalities, provinces, and trade unions.
