Sesto Fiorentino administration criticized over Legionella response
In Sesto Fiorentino, local politician Ecolò has criticized the Sforzi administration for its handling of a Legionella bacteria outbreak. Ecolò accused the municipal government of superficiality and improvisation in its response after families were informed of the bacteria's presence.
The criticism follows confusion regarding communication sent to parents about water usage. While the administration advised against using hot water for hygiene due to necessary sanitization, there were conflicting messages regarding the safety of cold water. Ecolò expressed concern over the deployment of water tankers and bypasses, questioning if the measures were proportionate to the scientific evidence and why cold water use was not immediately restricted.
