Setagaya to host seminar on utilizing vacant houses for community use

Setagaya City and the Setagaya Trust Machizukuri Foundation will host a seminar titled “What are bases that are useful to the community through the use of ‘houses’?” on October 3, 2026. The event is designed for property owners in Setagaya or those interested in community development through the utilization of vacant houses.

The program includes case studies from “Ibasho Cafe Komorina” and “Oka-san no Ie TOMO,” featuring lectures on building renovation and community-focused space creation. Additionally, an architect from the Tokyo Architects Association Setagaya Branch will provide instruction on building regulations and the utilization of existing structures. The seminar will take place at the Kamikitazawa Community Center and Oka-san no Ie TOMO, with participation limited to the first 20 applicants.
