Setúbal School Center to be inaugurated by Prime Minister

The Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the new Barbosa du Bocage School Center in Setúbal, marking the start of the 2026/2027 school year. The facility integrates a pre-school and 1st-cycle primary school with an existing 2nd and 3rd-cycle school that has undergone full requalification.

The project involved an investment of approximately 5.36 million euros. Funding was provided through a combination of municipal resources, totaling about 1.13 million euros, and approximately 4.22 million euros from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) via the ‘Communities in Action’ program and NextGenerationEU European funds.

The 2,300-square-meter building features thermal comfort and energy efficiency solutions. It is designed to accommodate 253 students, including 164 in the 1st cycle, 80 in pre-school, and nine in a Learning Support Center. The facility includes eight classrooms, four art expression rooms, four pre-school rooms, a Snoezelen multisensory room, and specialized learning support spaces.
