Seth Green discusses cancelled ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ reboot

Actor Seth Green has revealed that he was not involved in discussions regarding the planned reboot of ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’. Speaking on ‘The McBride Rewind’ podcast, Green stated that while he was not part of the talks for the project, he would be eager to reprise his role as the character Oz if offered.

The reboot, titled ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer: New Sunnydale’, was intended for Hulu and would have featured Sarah Michelle Gellar returning as Buffy. However, the project has been cancelled following the pilot. Gellar confirmed the cancellation via Instagram, expressing gratitude to director Chloé Zhao for her involvement in the development process.

Green expressed optimism regarding the franchise's potential, suggesting that the decision to stop development after a pilot does not mean the end of the series' viability and that further development could still lead to a successful production.
