Seth Meyers returns to Late Night after seven-week hiatus

NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” has returned from a seven-week hiatus, marking the longest break in the show’s history. The hiatus was intentional, as host Seth Meyers explained that the production team is moving toward a schedule similar to “Saturday Night Live” to provide more consistency during the fall, winter, and spring seasons.

The return episode features singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson as the sole guest. Clarkson appeared on the program to promote the new season of “The Voice,” which includes coaches Riley Green, Adam Levine, and Queen Latifah.

During the break, Meyers and head writer Sal Gentile maintained audience engagement through a weekly YouTube podcast titled “A Closer Look Out of Office.” Meyers described the podcast as a “catharsis” for the team while they were away from the main show.
