Seth Rollins discusses SummerSlam match and The Shield legacy

WWE Seth Rollins Roman Reigns SummerSlam The Shield

Seth Rollins has reflected on his SummerSlam match against Roman Reigns, stating that while the bout served as a closing chapter for the long-standing narrative of The Shield, it does not necessarily end his rivalry with Reigns.

Rollins noted that the match addressed the history of the group that formed in 2012, allowing both characters to move in new directions without being tied to past storylines. He expressed that the pressure to deliver a meaningful story was heightened by the absence of former Shield member Jon Moxley, who is currently with AEW.

Following his loss to Reigns, Rollins has been away from WWE television. He confirmed in recent interviews that he is taking time to focus on other matters and will return to the company when the timing is right.
