Settlers accused of demolishing Palestinian homes near Jericho

In the Ein al-Duyuk area near Jericho in the occupied West Bank, Israeli settlers are accused of demolishing Palestinian homes and orchards. Residents report that entire houses have been leveled and buried under dirt.

Local residents, including Mohammad Salah, state that settler-operated excavators have been active on a near-daily basis since July 19. While the activity is being conducted under the pretext of “clearing waste,” residents claim the operations are actually used to block access to homes and seize land. In one instance, rubble was dumped in front of a residence, preventing the owner from entering through the main entrance.

Legal filings and local accounts identify Hanan Herbst as a settler involved in the attacks. These operations are reportedly carried out with the escort of Israeli soldiers, though residents claim no official demolition orders have been presented to them.
