Seun Kuti Refutes Claims He Stormed Out of Peller and Jarvis Wedding

Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti denied reports that he angrily left the wedding of Nigerian TikTok personalities Peller and Jarvis in Lagos. Social media posts claimed he stormed out after an MC made a joke referencing the ongoing "Wizkid is bigger than Fela" debate, and a viral video captured him saying, "We are in the wrong place."

Kuti clarified that he remained at the ceremony until about 8:30 p.m. before departing to fulfill a prior engagement at his father’s New Afrika Shrine. He said bloggers misrepresented his exit and that there was no dispute or anger involved.

The incident revives attention on the earlier online clash between Wizkid and Kuti over Fela Kuti’s legacy, but Kuti insists the wedding departure was unrelated to the joke.
