Seungri faces assault and intimidation allegations in Seoul

Former BIGBANG member Seungri is facing allegations of special assault, special intimidation, and special confinement following an incident at a restaurant in Gangnam, Seoul, in August. CCTV footage released by JTBC shows Seungri standing up in an agitated manner, wielding a soju bottle, and making threatening gestures toward a man identified as Victim A.

Victim A claims that during the encounter, Seungri’s attitude shifted abruptly, leading him to shout, “Do you also think I am a loser?” The victim alleges that Seungri attempted to strike his head with a bottle and made death threats, stating, “Killing just one of you is not difficult at all.” The victim further claims he was prevented from leaving by three individuals and was pressured to discuss business investments instead of reporting the incident to the police.

Seungri has denied all criminal charges. While he admitted to picking up a soju bottle due to rising tensions, he maintained that he did not swing it or engage in any physical contact or assault. His legal side argues that the victim had initially proposed a business meeting and that the situation escalated because the victim refused to leave the area.
