Seungri denies special assault allegations following police complaint

Former BIGBANG member Seungri is under police investigation following an assault complaint filed by a man in his 30s. The complainant alleges that Seungri assaulted him at a restaurant in Gangnam, Seoul, in August.

Seungri has denied the allegations of special assault. He stated that while an argument occurred when the man repeatedly insisted on joining his table to discuss business ideas, the situation eventually became friendly. Seungri admitted to holding a liquor bottle during the initial disagreement but maintained that he did not swing it or use it to threaten the individual. He noted that the two exchanged contact information and that the man even saw him off after the meal.

Recent photos of Seungri at a social gathering have circulated online, leading to speculation about whether they were taken on the day of the alleged incident. Seungri clarified that the photos were taken at a different time with acquaintances and are not related to the day of the dispute. He stated he is cooperating with authorities and intends to provide CCTV footage and witness statements to clear his name.
