Seven Bank launches nanaco credit card with cash rewards

Seven Bank and Seven Card Service launched the ‘nanaco credit card’ on August 26. The card features a ‘nanaco Reward Program’ that combines cash, points, and discounts.

A notable feature of the program is the ‘cash reward’ system, where users receive 1,000 yen in cash for every 100,000 yen spent monthly, with a maximum monthly limit of 15,000 yen. According to Seven Card Service, this is the first feature in Japan that allows users to receive cash via Seven Bank ATMs based on monthly credit card usage.

The card has no annual fee and uses the JCB international brand. Standard usage earns 1 nanaco point for every 200 yen, representing a 0.5% base return rate. At Seven-Eleven stores, point returns can reach up to 11%. To qualify for these benefits, users must register for a 7iD and set their payment account to a Seven Bank account. Additionally, discounts are available at retailers such as Ito-Yokado and Ario. To mark the launch, a campaign is offering 7,777 yen in cash to new members who meet specific requirements, including setting Seven Bank as their payment account.
