Borås garage fire leaves seven children injured

A garage fire in Fristad, north of Borås, has left seven children under the age of 15 with serious injuries. The incident occurred on a Friday evening while the youths were working on vehicles. According to emergency services, a small amount of gasoline leaked and ignited, causing a rapid and intense blaze.

One child is currently in life-threatening condition and is being treated at a burn center in Linköping. Three other children are in serious but stable condition, while others received treatment for minor injuries. Due to a shortage of available ambulances, firefighters had to use a fire engine to transport one of the injured youths to the hospital.

Borås municipality and the Swedish Church have activated crisis support, opening a center in Fristad to assist affected families and community members. Police have launched an investigation into public endangerment, though no suspects have been identified at this time.
