Seven killed in two separate road accidents in Kolar and Chikkaballapur

Seven people were killed in two separate road accidents in the Kolar and Chikkaballapur districts on Monday.

In Kolar, a car traveling from Tirupati to Bengaluru crashed into a stone culvert near Duddakari village on the Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway. Four members of a single family from Mysuru—Devendra (44), Sharada Bai (70), Diksha (20), and Vishnu Sai (12)—died in the crash. Three other occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries. Police are investigating whether the driver dozed off or swerved to avoid an animal.

In a second incident in Chikkaballapur district, three women died following a head-on collision between two vans near Sidlaghatta. The victims, who were daily wage workers, were traveling between Mallikarjuna and Ujuguru villages when the collision occurred near a curve. Twelve other individuals were injured in this accident.
