Seven-year-old Girl Discharged After Serious Injuries at Lima Inflatable Park

A seven‑year‑old girl, identified as Elizabeth, was badly injured on 17 July when she was expelled several metres from an inflatable attraction at the Circuito Mágico del Agua in the Cercado de Lima. She suffered a severe cranial trauma and a distal radius fracture and underwent two high‑risk surgeries performed by the neuro‑ and trauma‑surgery teams of the Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño (INSN) in Breña.

The hospital announced her discharge after a favorable evolution: she can feed herself, respond to stimuli and shows no apparent sequelae. Doctors said full bone healing may take up to six months, with two to three months of outpatient physiotherapy required for her wrist. The child’s mother said legal action will be pursued against the park operators, criticizing the absence of on‑site medical personnel and emergency services.
