SEVENTEEN’s DK and Vernon to Begin South Korean Military Service

South Korean boy‑band SEVENTEEN announced that members DK (Lee Seok Min) and Vernon (Hansol Vernon Chwe) will start their mandatory military duties later this year. DK is scheduled to enlist as an active‑duty soldier in the Army on 8 September, while Vernon will begin alternative service as a social‑service agent on 20 August.

PLEDIS Entertainment said both idols will fulfil all official activities planned before their enlistment and will remain out of group activities during their service. The agency asked fans to refrain from visiting enlistment ceremonies or work sites, citing privacy for the recruits and their families. Pre‑recorded content will be released to keep SEVENTEEN’s fan club CARAT engaged while the members are away.

The enlistments continue SEVENTEEN’s staggered service period, with other members already serving in various capacities, and follow the group’s recent contract renewal with PLEDIS.
