Seventeen's Vernon releases solo single ahead of military enlistment

Vernon, a member of the K-pop group Seventeen, is releasing a new solo digital single titled “I'll Be Back” on Thursday as he begins his mandatory military service in South Korea. The electronic pop track, which Vernon helped write and compose, serves as a farewell gift to fans.

Vernon has entered a military training center to undergo basic training before transitioning to duties as a public service worker. Although he holds dual South Korean and US citizenship, he has chosen to fulfill his military obligations in Korea.

His enlistment is part of a staggered period of military service for Seventeen members. While Jeonghan has already completed his service, other members such as Wonwoo, Hoshi, and Woozi are currently serving, with Dokyeom and Mingyu scheduled to enlist in September.
