Severe Floods Sweep Multiple Chinese Provinces, Prompting Mass Evacuations

Intense rainfall has caused widespread flooding across nine provinces and municipalities in China, including Shanghai, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, Anhui, Jiangsu, Jilin, Liaoning and Yunnan. In Shanghai's Yangpu District, flash floods submerged roads and forced residents into temporary shelters, while rescue crews in Chongqing search for dozens missing after a landslide. The China Meteorological Administration warned that heavy rain will continue for the next three days, with a risk of additional typhoons forming in the monsoon season.
