Severe frontal crash in Bechhofen, Germany injures three
Two cars collided head‑on on the Kreisstraße between Bechhofen and Großenried in the Ansbach district on Tuesday morning. A 76‑year‑old driver of a white Kia entered the opposite lane for an unexplained reason and struck a small car driven by a 59‑year‑old from Dinkelsbühl. The impact left the Kia driver with serious head and chest injuries, the small‑car driver with chest injuries, and the passenger with multiple fractures. All three were taken by ambulance to the Ansbach Hospital, while the passenger was air‑lifted to the Nürnberg Süd Clinic.
Both vehicles were declared total losses, with damages exceeding €20,000. The road was closed for about two hours while more than 45 volunteer firefighters from Bechhofen, Großenried and nearby communities managed traffic and set up a detour.
