Severe storm alert issued for Łódź and Łódź Voivodeship

The Łódź Voivodeship Crisis Management Centre has issued an alert for Łódź and the surrounding counties, warning of a rapid weather change on Friday, 17 July. The forecast predicts a high probability (80 %) of severe thunderstorms with strong winds, heavy rain, hail and lightning, expected to begin around 20:00 on Friday and continue until 10:00 on Saturday.

The warning covers 23 districts, including Bełchatów, Brzeziny, Kutno, Łask, Łęczyca, Łódź East, Pabianice, Piotrków Trybunalski and several others. Residents are advised to remain indoors, avoid opening windows, stay away from electrical installations, and seek shelter in sturdy buildings or vehicles if caught outdoors. Additional safety guidance includes staying away from open fields, tall trees, and power lines.
