Severe storms cause livestock loss in Switzerland and damage in Germany

Severe weather events have caused significant distress and damage in Switzerland and Germany. In Switzerland, a farm reported the loss of livestock following a storm. An ox had to be euthanized after falling into a stream, and a heifer was found dead in a forest. The farm is also facing challenges regarding water scarcity despite recent rainfall.

In Germany, a violent hailstorm struck the Donau-Ries district, transforming parts of Monheim into a winter-like landscape within minutes. The storm, which moved through several towns including Mündling, Fünfstetten, Kreut, and Rehau, caused extensive damage. Initial estimates suggest property damage could reach millions of euros, with hundreds of vehicles dented by heavy hail and significant impact on local infrastructure.
