Severe Weather Alerts Sweep Pennsylvania and Nearby Areas

The National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Schuylkill County and much of Pennsylvania on the evening of July 4, 2026, warning of strong winds, lightning, heavy rain and hail that could affect Fourth of July fireworks.

A tornado warning was later posted for parts of Perry, Dauphin, Cumberland and Harrisburg counties, urging residents to seek shelter as a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado moved eastward at about 20 mph.

Simultaneously, a Flood Watch covering portions of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware warned of flash flooding from heavy rain, while a Heat Advisory highlighted expected heat index values of 95‑100 °F across central and northern parts of the region.

Emergency crews also began a search at Marsh Creek State Park in Chester County after a paddleboarder fell into the water and was reported missing on Saturday night.
