Severe Traffic Crash on L9 in Rhineland-Palatinate Injures Five

A serious traffic accident occurred at 17:09 on July 16, 2026, on the L9 road between Heckhuscheid and Niederüttfeld in Rhineland-Palatinate. A car travelling from Kesfeld collided with a priority‑right‑of‑way tippers vehicle, causing both vehicles to overturn. Five occupants were seriously injured, including two children. All injured persons were taken to hospitals after on‑site treatment.

Emergency services deployed two rescue helicopters, a medical emergency vehicle, three ambulances, fire crews from three local stations, and police units. The crash site was secured and the road closed until 20:35. The state prosecutor’s office has ordered a technical assessment of the accident.
