The most exposed areas include Dakar, Thiès, Mbour, Saly, Somone and Joal‑Fadiouth, with precipitation expected to continue into the early morning. Residents were urged to monitor conditions and take necessary precautions.

In eastern France, Météo France issued an orange vigilance for violent thunderstorms on 1 August, affecting the Haute‑Loire, Loire, Rhône, Jura and Ain departments. Forecasts called for strong gusts of 80‑100 km/h, hailstones up to 2‑5 cm, and intense rain of 15‑30 mm in short periods. The city of Lyon closed its parks as a precaution, and the alert remains in force until late evening.
