Severe weather and heat reported in Ciudad Juárez and Washington D.C

Severe weather conditions have been reported in both Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, and Washington D.C., involving high temperatures and storm activity.

In Ciudad Juárez, the Civil Protection Directorate warned of a hot day with maximum temperatures reaching 36 degrees Celsius. While mostly sunny, there is a slight probability of rain and thunderstorms between Thursday evening and early Friday morning. Wind gusts may reach up to 40 kilometers per hour, prompting officials to advise caution in open areas.

Washington D.C. experienced intense thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong wind gusts during the early hours of Friday. The National Weather Service reported a wind gust of 64 mph (approximately 103 km/h) at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Although severe thunderstorm warnings for the District of Columbia and surrounding areas like Arlington and Alexandria were later canceled, high humidity and heat are expected to persist, with heat indices potentially reaching 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
